My painting style is based in contemporary impressionism, shaped by emotion, memory, and a deep connection to the places I’ve lived. Inspired by the French Impressionists, I aim to capture light, atmosphere, and feeling rather than strict realism. I often use my own photographs as a starting point, but I allow intuition to guide me—changing colours, forms, and perspectives to express the mood I want to convey.
My brushwork is expressive and often textured, and I work with a limited palette to create harmony and subtle contrasts. Whether I’m painting a quiet seascape, a dramatic landscape, or a more abstract piece, I want the viewer to feel something—to step into the story and experience the emotion behind the scene.
For me, painting is not just about what I see—it's about what I remember and what I feel. “Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.” — Edgar Degas
